Sun Shines on Small Businesses!
Solar Electricity is now a lucrative financial investment for small
business thanks to a trio of new State and Federal Government
incentives.
Small businesses only have to the
end of this year to take advantage of the Federal Government’s generous
50% bonus tax deduction on solar electricity panels.
Add that to the new solar
electricity rebate which will soon be open to businesses and the solar
buy back scheme announced by the State Government and small businesses
could be recouping their money in as little as 5 years, then making a
profit of tens of thousands of dollars over the life of the system.
“These three key incentives have
coincided to make solar electricity an excellent investment for small
businesses.” Said Adam Tesoriero, Director of SolarSwitch.
The new solar rebate, which will
soon be available to businesses, is approximately $7000 on a 1.5KW
system. The 50% bonus tax deduction represents a further saving of
$2500 in the first year. This means a small business can install a
1.5kW system for less than $5000.
The State Government is also
offering a solar buy back scheme of four times the retail rate for
excess solar electricity fed into the grid from January 1st. All of
this means that a small business could recoup its money in as little as 5
years. Once the system has paid itself off the business stands to
make in excess of $30,000 over the life of the system, which has a 25
year manufacturer’s output warranty on the solar panels.
“Until recently there were
absolutely no incentives for businesses to go green, now there are
several for companies that act fast.” Said Mr Tesoriero
Installing a solar electricity
system will also protect the business against rising electricity prices,
reduce the company’s carbon footprint and provide excellent
opportunities for the business to market itself as environmentally
friendly.
“Corporate responsibility is
becoming more and more important to consumers when deciding which
companies to spend their money with.” Said Mr Tesoriero
SolarSwitch have put together a
business model that can be tailored to show each individual company
exactly how it can benefit from these incentives. We can then design a
system to suit the company’s needs and manage the project from concept
to installation.
SolarSwitch only use the highest
quality equipment from reputable manufacturers and fully licensed,
insured and Business Council of Sustainable Energy accredited
electricians for all installations.
